Dr. Clark And Associates are proud to provide our patients with the latest glaucoma and retinal disease detection, the Cirrus HD-OCT. It is our commitment to you to provide the best in eye care. Dr. Clark and Associates recommend screening in addition to a comprehensive eye examination to detect glaucoma and other retinal eye diseases.
Glaucoma is a disease that affects 67 million people worldwide. More than 3 million of those afflicted are Americans, While roughly half of those are undiagnosed. Left untreated, glaucoma can lead to blindness. Because it often has no symptoms and causes no pain, many people are unaware that they have the disease until they experience vision loss.
Diabetes currently affects nearly 26 million Americans. Diabetic retinopathy refers the retinopathy, or damage to the retina, caused by complications of diabetes. This damage can eventually lead to blindness if not caught early and treated appropriately. Diabetic retinopathy affects up to 80% of all patients who have had diabetes for 10 years or more.
The Cirrus-OCT screening takes less than 5 minutes, is non-intrusive, requires no pupil dilation, and causes no discomfort. A safe laser scans the back of your eye and acquires an image. These images give us a multitude of information regarding the risk for glaucoma in addition to the presence of abnormalities in the retina related to diabetes and other retinal problems.
Insurance- Your plan may provide you with basic vision coverage, however, it does NOT include advanced disease detection procedures like Cirrus-OCT screening.
Cost-The fee for this Cirrus-OCT screening is only $39.00.
Dr. Clark Associate also offer Optomap® Retinal Exam as an integral part of your eye exam today. This non-invasive procedure allows your doctor to see a much broader and more detailed view of the retina than is possible with conventional methods. These conditions may otherwise go undetected using traditional examination techniques and equipment. Simultaneous, non-contact central pole-to-periphery views of up to 82% or 200 degrees of the retina are displayed in one single capture.
Our advanced digital retinal imaging provides:
- A digital computerized, ultra wide-field image of your retina without usual dilation.
- The ability to show you your images today during the examination.
- A permanent record for your medical file; year to year screenings for potential eye disease and tracking of diagnosed eye disease.
Insurance- Your plan may provide you with basic vision coverage, however, it does NOT include advanced disease detection procedures like the optomap® Retinal Exam.
